πŸ’• The Ultimate Act of Self-Love

Published 3 months agoΒ β€’Β 2 min read

Hi Reader,

We are more than halfway through January and I still feel like I'm slowly easing into the year. Anyone else feeling that too?

The days are cold and gloomy here in the Northeast, and all I want to think about is being warm and cozy!

What is the ultimate act of self-love?

It's self-care.

Why Self-Care? Because You're Worth It! ✨

In the hustle and bustle of life, it's easy to forget the most important person in the roomβ€”you!

We go day in and day out taking care of our family, our clients or customers, our pets, the house and the list goes on and on.

Self-care isn't just a trendy buzzword, it truly is the ultimate act of self-love, and an essential part of taking care of your health.

I know, you too are busy, and who has time for that?

You truly do!!

Here are 5 ways to squeeze in self-care when life is a circus: πŸŽͺ

  1. Hot Shower Serenity: Turn your morning shower into a spa-worthy experience. Play your favorite tunes (or revel in the silence), indulge in that fancy shower gel you've been saving, and envision the hot water rinsing away your stress.
  2. Beautiful Breaths: We breathe all day long and rarely even know it. Stop every so often and intentionally take a calming breath in, hold it for a comfortable moment and release it. Do this a few times and you'll notice your heart rate go down and your whole body will feel a reset.
  3. End of Day Dance Party: Shake off the work blues by having a quick dance party at your desk. Put on your favorite song, let loose, and feel the endorphins lift your spirits. Your colleagues might join in – who knows, you might start a trend! You'll feel SO much better getting into your car to head home! Try this if you work from home too, to release the end of the day work "stuff" and transition to your home life.
  4. Give Yourself a Tech Timeout: Declare a tech timeout! Set aside a few minutes in the evening for a soothing cup of tea. Steep, sip, and savor the tranquility. Use this time to disconnect from screens and unwind your mind.
  5. Netflix and Chill: Turn your guilty pleasure TV time into a self-care ritual. Pick a show that brings joy, laughter, or a sprinkle of drama into your life. Curl up with a cozy blanket and let the magic of storytelling whisk you away from reality for a while. My go-to is Hallmark, lol, I'm a sucker for happy endings!

Remember, self-care isn't selfish, it's a necessity.

So, go ahead and treat yourself like the fabulous person you are.

Your future self will thank you!

Happy weekend!

Christa 😊

Hi Reader, Happy Spring! It's still cold here in the Northeast, but the daffodils are blooming so spring MUST be coming! Do you ever have pesky symptoms that bother you? That's really a trick question because everyone does as one time or another. Well, I've always been one to want to dig in to find out why, and that's looking for what they call "the root cause". Most quick fixes (ie. OTC medications) provide a bandaid, but it's really important to know WHY whatever it is that's happening, is...

Hi Reader, Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! There is nothing I love more than the feeling of a new year and starting off with a clean slate. New ideas, new goals, new inspiration. With this, also comes the marketing of resolutions - "do this", "don't do that", there are so many words of advice coming at you all at once. It can be hard to ignore them because, if you are like me, I want to make the best choice for myself. This is the height of shiny object syndrome time....

Hi Reader, I love planning for a new year. 🌟 It's like a clean slate to make fresh goals and put to rest what didn't work in the previous year. Health is always on my list. Yep, I'm a health practitioner, but I'm constantly working on the next level of health for my own body. Sure, I've refined a lot, but there's always more to focus on. (In 2023 I did a parasite cleanse - it sounds SO gross, but was totally worth it, I'd rather have those buggers out than in lol, tested my thyroid, had my...
